Flashback Friday: Olivia’s Magical Day Unicorn Birthday Card

Olivia’s Magical Day Unicorn Birthday Card

Happy Day! Welcome back to the other half of my family’s birthday celebration from this past weekend.  Today I’m here to show off my sweet and very spunky grand-daughter and the Magical Day Unicorn card & coloring gift I made for her eighth birthday. (If you missed my favorite daughter-in-love’s ENJOY LIFE card, see it HERE).

Olivia looooves unicorns, so I just had to use the Myths & Magic Suite from the Spring Occasions Catalog. While most of these products are retired now (hence the flashback), I know many of you have this stamp set (and/or bundle)… and possibly some Designer Series Paper left! It’s such an adorable Suite! Doesn’t Olivia’s sparkly Magical Day unicorn card just make you smile???

Here’s a peek at the inside (photo below), personalized just for her! This sentiment totally fits her personality! Can you guess her fave color???

I stamped (Memento Tuxedo Black Ink) and colored the unicorn (Stampin’ Blends markers) on thick Whisper White Cardstock, then die cut it with the coordinating framelits and glued it to the inside of the card. This way I didn’t have to worry about bleed-through common with alcohol markers.

To coordinate with the card, I made this sweet coloring gift set (photo below). This adorable box (made with the Lots To Love Box Framelits Die) holds five Crayola Pip Squeaks Markers, peeking out with the help of the Layering Circles Framelits Dies and Window Sheet (recycled from packaging).

magical days coloring gift, stampinup, stampin up, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

The little coloring book is just 2 Narrow Note cards, randomly stamped inside with the images from the Magical Day stamp set, stacked and tied with Whisper White Bakers Twine. Quick & easy, but oh, so wonderful for a little coloring fun! (see the video below for a look inside)

This is a great gift for a little girl- but it’d also be a fun party favor or transportable coloring kit for when you’re out & about with kiddos; a fun way to keep them occupied while waiting.

Here’s a quick video – don’t blink!

Finally, a pic of Olivia holding her card. Have to show her off! Isn’t she ADORABLE???? Sorry it’s blurry …possibly too much sugar 🙂
Hope you enjoyed Olivia’s Magical Day Unicorn card and coloring gift. Don’t you just LOVE what you can make from mere paper?! Handmade. From the Heart. Seeing the smile on her face makes my heart so happy! If you’re looking for more kid’s ideas, check out these other projects:

Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE Birthday Card & Video Reveal of New Goodies

Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE Birthday Card

This past weekend we celebrated two birthdays in our family: my favorite daughter-in-love, Crystal and our sweet and spunky grand-daughter, Olivia. Of course, they each got handmade cards! Today I’m sharing Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE birthday card (Olivia’s card & gift follow Friday with a little video clip!)

Speaking of videos, want to check out some of Stampin’ Up!’s newest goodies? My order arrived yesterday and I’m here to share!  So much FUN stuff… wooHOO! See several New Designer Series Papers (part of the BUY 3- GET 1 FREE special going on), a new Limited Edition Bundle coming soon and more, more, more!

enjoy life, card ideas, stampin up, stampinup, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

Back to my daughter-in-love, Crystal has an energetic zest for life, positive attitude and love for others that makes me smile with pride, but it’s her determination that amazes me. She puts her ‘all’ into overcoming any obstacles put in her path. The word “can’t” is not in her vocabulary!  The girl raising her hands in the air could’ve been modeled after her… except for one tiny difference. Crystal has long curly hair! Easily fixed with a little touch up with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. What fun to adapt… did you notice? 🙂 (Compare it to the actual stamp a bit lower in this post).

The main panel was watercolored for that cool background effect, then stamped with Staz-On Ink using my Stamparatus. It’s especially helpful when stamping on watercolor paper, as repeat stamping with exact placement is often needed to get good ink coverage on this textured paper. The (Bermuda Bay) stripe is from the Brights Collection 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Want to see how to create that watercolored background, check out the video tutorial in this post HERE.

This inside sentiment (and ‘Happy Birthday’ from the front) are part of the ‘Picture Perfect Birthday’ stamp set. They just really seemed to go perfect with the sentiment on the front. It really is the little “everyday” things worth celebrating. As Kenny Chesney sings… “that’s the good stuff!”

ENJOY LIFEenjoy life 148190G

The ENJOY LIFE stamp set was part of fellow demonstrator Connie Fitzgerald’s reward for the milestone achievement of a million dollars in career sales.  She wanted something to represent her two adventurous and spunky kids, as well as inspirational quotes her family lives by. I find I reach for this set a LOT- it’s super versatile! If you have someone like Crystal in your life, (or others in need of a little lift), you’ll be using this set as much as I do!

Hope you enjoy a peek at lots of new product and the specials going on this month…

It’ll be a Flashback Friday post for Olivia’s card and gift. She loves unicorns, so can you guess what I used for her card and gift???? Find out Friday…

Three Suite ‘Life is Sweeter Card’ in yummy Mint Macaron

Three Suite ‘Life is Sweeter Card’ in Mint Macaron

Today’s ‘Life Is Sweeter Card’ was so fun to make -with elements from THREE different product Suites! It demonstrates why product coordination is, in my opinion, the TOP reason to love Stampin’ Up! Everything mixes and matches – meaning value and versatility for YOU! {Fortunately I can also sing their praises for stellar customer service, high quality products and an inspiring & supportive community!}. Life really is sweeter when you can get MORE from what you have!

life is sweeter card, stampinup, stampin up, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

Three Product Suites

While products within each Suite are designed to coordinate with each other, they ALSO coordinate with other products outside the Suite! That’s the beauty of Stampin’ Up!  For example, once you get Mint Macaron cardstock, it’ll coordinate with five different Designer Series Paper packs! Same applies to embellishments. Ink. Ribbon. Versatility = Value

Here are the three product Suites used for this ‘Life Is Sweeter Card’ and where you can find them in the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

  1. DELIGHTFULLY DETAILED  {p 38-39}:
    • Delightfully Detailed Specialty Designer Series Paper (frame)
    • Detailed With Love stamp set (sentiment)
    • Detailed Trio Punch  (rounded corners and inside details)
    • BUNDLE BONUS! Save 10% on the Stamps & Punch Bundle
  2. SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE {p 176-177}:
    • Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (first layer and flower accents)
  3. NATURE’S POEM {p 142-144}:
    •  Nature’s Twine (Mint Macaron stitched accent on frame)

life-is-sweeter-card-how-to-stampinup-stampin-up-stampin-savvy-stampinsavvy-tammy-beard.jpg

Savvy Tips

Like to sew?  Separate the Nature’s Twine into two groups of strands, grab an embroidery needle and with one group, stitch up and down through each hole, securing the ends on the back with tape. Five minutes is all it takes to make this lovely stitched frame!

SAVVY TIP: Let your Designer Series Paper (DSP) do the {design} work for you!

  • Select two coordinating patterns (preferably one small in pattern (leaf sprigs) and one large (flowers).
  • Use the small pattern as the first background layer; the second for your accent.
  • Pick your card base color from one of the common colors found on the DSP (for this card, either Mint Macaron or Shaded Spruce would work)
  • Since the DSP is already color and pattern coordinated (thanks SU!), designing is easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!

life is sweeter card, closeup, stampinup, stampin up, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

I like finding creative ways to do things – a fun twist, you could say- so for this card instead of adding the sentiment on top of the DSP, cut the DSP to make room for it to peek through from the underlying card base. See what I mean??? It doesn’t have quite the same impact on camera as it does in real life, but it IS a fun twist!

life is sweeter card, inside, stampinup, stampin up, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

Notice the lovely accents at each corner? That’s the Detailed Trio Punch in action, with an accent stamp from Detailed With Love using the Mint Macaron Classic Stampin’ Pad. They work so well together, they look like they’re all one design!

The Detailed Trio Punch is  a 3-IN-1 PUNCH with three functions that are independent of each other- so you can can use them together or separately!

  1. A corner rounder to punch the outside edge of corners (YAY!)
  2. A lovely abstract flower punch for the inside corner
  3. A small oval punch for weaving ribbon (similar to the effect on the front frame, but not shown here)

SU Graceful Glass Vellum & Stitched All Around Stamps are “Fabulous”

SU Graceful Glass Vellum & Stitched All Around Stamps are “Fabulous”

Today’s project pairs two favorites: SU Graceful Glass Vellum and Stitched All Around stamps. This sentiment makes me laugh every time I use it! I wish I could pull off saying it in real life… it needs an upper-crust accent! lol At least I can provide “classy” with the beautiful vellum and a little coloring with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

su graceful glass, card ideas, stampin up, stampinup, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

PROJECT TUTORIAL
  • Stampin Blends Markers in Calypso Coral Combo and Old Olive Combo color the flowers on the front of the SU Graceful Glass Vellum.  Pool Party Combo colors the vellum from the back (much easier!).  Dark Bermuda Bay accents the top & bottom (from back). The panel is backed by Whisper White Cardstock and adhered behind images with Glue Dots (can you see them?). It’s popped up over Basic Black Cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The vine accent is stamped with Versamark Ink from the Stitched All Around stamp set.
  • The sentiment from the Stitched All Around set uses the ‘Stamp With Markers’ technique (find tips HERE) using Calypso Coral & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers. Cut it out with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies or the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch. Accents are Faceted Dots.
  • A2 Card base is Calypso Coral Cardstock.

su graceful glass, card ideas, close-up, stampin up, stampinup, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

SAVVY TIPS
  • Wink of Stella Clear Glitter was brushed on the flowers after the card was completed. It’s a subtle effect, but adds so much to jazz up cards. I tried to capture it in the photo above, although the reflection washed out the color a bit. It’s really beautiful in person! If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it. You may have noticed I use it a LOT- it’s one of my fave tools! It’s a pen filled with a clear glitter solution and a brush tip, so it’s super easy to use. Just “paint” it where you want a little shimmer 🙂
  • Did you know you can create FOUR of these cards with one sheet of the SU Graceful Glass Vellum. Yep, there’s four of these strips on a single sheet, ready to be cut apart! Use my “BATCH PROCESSING” method to create four cards in just over the time it takes to make one!

su graceful glass, card ideas, inside, stampin up, stampinup, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

  • One of the advantages of buying Clear Mount stamps (versus Wood Mount-ie. classic red rubber stamps that mount on Stampin’ Up! Clear Blocks) is the ability to manipulate their positioning. An example is found above, where the vine stamp was placed on the block in a curved position and stamped with a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Pad to produce this framed look. (The standard positioning is found on the front of the card.) The sentiment was stamped with a Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad.

Happy Independence Day with a fun Graceful Glass Vellum Card Idea

Graceful Glass Vellum Card Idea

Happy Independence Day, America! Hope you’re enjoying this holiday with family and friends… while being grateful for the incredible freedom we enjoy. Thank you to those who are serving and have served to protect our wonderful country! You are appreciated!!!

What better for this fourth of July holiday than a card reminiscent of relaxing on the beach. Not exactly what you’d relate with stained glass, so I hope this Graceful Glass Vellum card idea inspires you to see the range of possibilities with this fun Specialty Designer Series Paper!graceful glass card ideas, stampin up, stampinup, stampin savvy, stampinsavvy, tammy beard

This Graceful Glass Vellum card idea was inspired by a project in the 2018-2019 Catalog (page 161). The pattern on the vellum reminded me of waves, so I thought, let’s give it a go and substitute it for the scallops! What do you think??? Can you see the sun reflected off the waves and feel the sand between your toes???

  • Stampin’ Blends Markers (Light Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay combo) provide the sea colors on the Graceful Glass Vellum. Adhere to the card front with Multi-Purpose Glue dabbed on with a Stampin’ Sponge.
  • Rip a strip of Tranquil Textures DSP  to create the sand. Add a little interest with the spotted stamp from the Waterfront set and Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies cut on your Big Shot machine from the Wood Textures DSP create the Adirondack chair
  • Nature’s Twine in Crumb Cake, tied with a few knots, makes the rope (it’s adhered with Glue Dots)
  • The sentiment is from Another Wonderful Year, stamped with Blueberry Bushel Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • The A2 card base is Balmy Blue Cardstock.
  • The starfish is from the April 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. (I’m loving these STORAGE TIPS & FREE RESOURCES!)

A little quick coloring with the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers in NEW COLORS Pineapple Punch and Lovely Lipstick (don’t you just love those names?!), a few cuts on your trimmer and a single stamp is all this card takes! Springtime Impressions Embossed Vellum Card and Exciting News!

Springtime Impressions Embossed Vellum Card

Today’s project features an embossed vellum card with a twist: it’s not created in the way you’d likely think. It was made with the Springtime Impressions Thinlits die (part of the Garden Impressions Suite). Did you catch that? A die (as in die-cut), NOT an embossing folder. Made possible with the Big Shot Embossing Mat- a new must-have tool if you own the Big Shot machine! If you watched Wednesday’s video tutorial (found HERE)- you know what I’m talking about!

embossed vellum-springtime-impressions-thinlits-card-ideas-stampin-up-stampinup-stampin-savvy-stampinsavvy-tammy-beard

I’m so taken with the fun new technique of embossing with dies that I can’t stop! Getting double-duty from all your dies with just one (inexpensive!) tool is AMAZING!

I was so excited to see the embossed vellum look as fabulous in reality as I pictured in my head. (Yay! That doesn’t always happen 🙂 It provides such a beautiful backdrop to the bright butterfly. For another lovely butterfly card made with this die, see Monday’s project HERE.

Savvy Tip: Vellum is much thinner than cardstock, so you may get areas that cut through even with the embossing mat. Lightly sponging Multipurpose Glue all over the top and adhering it to the card base upside down solved any problems. It helped to lay Clear Blocks and a book on it for the night; flat and secure in the morning!

Two layers of butterfly add dimension and the illusion that it’s flying. The little heart from the ‘Stitched Labels’ Framelits Dies provides a cute little focal point. The antennae are Whisper White Baker’s Twine untwisted and colored with the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker. You’ll find that sweet “hello” sentiment in the ‘Varied Vases’ stamp set.

How To Emboss With Dies Using the NEW Big Shot Embossing Pad

How To Emboss With Dies Using the NEW Big Shot Embossing Pad

Happy Day! I’m so excited to be sharing today’s video with you. It features a brand new tool from the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! catalog that I consider a game-changer when it comes to the Big Shot machine. I’m going to show you how to use the new Big Shot Embossing Pads to emboss with dies. That’s right- instead of cutting, it embosses! Get double the delight from every Big Shot Thinlits, Framelits and Edgelits die you own! Talk about possibilities… I get giddy just thinking about it!

As well, we continue with the Garden Impressions Suite showcase that I started on Monday. If you missed that project, check it out HERE. The first card on the video is this sweet ‘Congratulations’ card for my niece and her hubby who are expecting their first baby (a girl).

Here’s the second card made in the video… kind of.  When I went to adhere everything down (after the video), I decided to change it a wee bit… surprise! Now you’ve got two choices for your own cards: the way I laid it out on the video, or this version! Options are good 🙂

Product Showcase: Garden Impressions DSP and Suite

Product Showcase: Garden Impressions DSP

Hi friends! What better time to showcase Stampin’ Up!’s new Garden Impressions Suite of products than the first week of summer? Today’s project is a quick and simple card where the Garden Impressions DSP (Designer Series Paper) is the star of the show. Hand-painted floral images in bright, vibrant colors with impressionistic-style make up this beautiful paper. If you like Monet’s paintings, you’re going to love it!

Garden Impressions DSP item 146289

Garden Impressions DSP

The Garden Impressions DSP pack features 24 different designs. You get four each of the 12 double-sided sheets. Guess how many coordinating colors you have to choose from? TEN! That’s a LOT of creative options 🙂

garden-impressions-card-ideas-stampinup-stampin-up-stampinsavvy-stampin-savvy-tammy-beard

It’s hard to tell on the card base here, but Soft Sea Foam really is lovely. I wish it wasn’t so shy on camera! The texture is from the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which I used sideways. You can do that with the 6″ x 6″ folders! I envisioned sparkles all around the butterfly (like fireflies or fairy dust)- my card, my imagination!

I had someone special in mind for this card, so I chose a sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage set, rather than the fun 2-step photopolymer set called Abstract Impressions that coordinates with this suite, but more on it later. It’s currently bundled with the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies to save you 10%!

Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies item 146326

Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies

The butterfly was cut from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies… one of my favorites from the new catalog (you’ll be seeing the other dies later this week). The butterfly was also cut from the Garden Impressions DSP (second row, far right in top photo), providing a variegated look that provides textural interest over plain cardstock. Isn’t it lovely???

garden-impressions-card-ideas-closeup-stampinup-stampin-up-stampinsavvy-stampin-savvy-tammy-beard

I added a couple personal touches to the butterfly with a scrap of untwisted baker’s twine for antennae and colored Rhinestone Jewels for bling (keep reading for the how-to). It was attached only in the center with a few Glue Dots so the wings flap freely. For fun, you’ll find another pattern on the underside should you peek!

Create custom-coordinated embellishments with Stampin’ Blends Markers

One of my favorite ways to use Stampin’ Blends Markers is to customize embellishments. You know I love versatility- especially when I can find more ways to use what I have. This card was the perfect time to pull this technique out, as there isn’t any Night of Navy embellishments in the catalog. So I looked through my basic jewels and decided to go with the Clear Rhinestones, but they were a little too distracting for me. A quick swish with the brush tip of the Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends Marker and voila’- custom embellishments!

{This technique also works for the Pearls; a good reason to keep both Rhinestone & Pearl Jewels on hand with your Stampin’ Blends markers!}

Accented Blooms Round 3- Easy Watercolor Cards

Accented Blooms Round 3- Easy Watercolor Cards

Have you enjoyed this week’s showcase of the Accented Blooms stamps set? I’ve had so much fun playing- and we’re not done yet! Today I’ve got a video tutorial showing you how to use this set to create easy watercolor cards. Yes, easy- see for yourself!

easy watercolor cards accented blooms card ideas stampinup stampin up stampin savvy stampinsavvy tammy beard

Let me me say up front that a pro watercolor-er I am not. But, I have learned a few things over the years that work for stampers like me- and hopefully you’ll find them helpful. My top three tips are…

  1. Water is you’re friend! Lay it down first before adding ink. Don’t be afraid to add more, or remove some to dilute color. Let it work for you.
  2. Be patient! Preferably, let it dry naturally- especially between layers. If you’re in a hurry, use your Heat Tool on low (level 1)- being careful not to move any pools of water. How it looks wet, is usually NOT how it will look dry, so be patient and wait.
  3. Go with the flow! Embrace the organic nature of water-coloring and don’t overthink your coloring. Just drop your ink in and leave it. Typically, the less you work it, the better the results. Relax and have fun!

With that intro, enjoy….

Color Trivia

Did you know that all colors derive from 3 primary colors? Can you guess what they are??? Here’s a few hints. Want a little purple on your easy watercolor cards? Mix a tad of Blueberry Bushel with Lovely Lipstick. Prefer olive green? Add a little Pineapple Punch to Call Me Clover. Or maybe you’d rather have a deeper green? Instead of Pineapple Punch, add Blueberry Bushel. Did you catch the three? Red, Blue and Yellow.

With all three primary colors included in the 2018-2020 In Colors, you have endless coloring possibilities. As such, they also all coordinate and play well with each other. Top that with 10% off the bundled Collection! Mixing colors is FUN, so experiment and play!

Stock Versatile Basics

To your Classic Stampin’ Pad Collection add the 2018-2020 In Color Cardstock Pack, Designer Series Paper and grosgrain ribbons and you’ve got the basics for TONS of beautiful, coordinated cards and projects! Just add your fave stamp sets (like Accented Blooms 🙂 and start creating! Want to see other projects with these In Colors? Check them out HERE, HERE and HERE.

SU Accented Blooms Round 2- Bring on the Blends

SU Accented Blooms Round 2- Bring on the Blends

Happy Day! I love a stamp set that inspires creativity and the new SU Accented Blooms definitely delivers. Simply stamped or colored- it looks great! I’m here to show you some of the possibilities this set offers… and how much fun you can have!

su accented blooms card ideas stampin savvy stampinsavvy stampinup stampin up tammy beard

Monday’s project featured simple stamping with a fun peekaboo sentiment using the coordinating Tailored Tag punch (if you missed it, check it out HERE). Today’s card is totally different, although you could say the flowers play peekaboo, too!

Bring on the Stampin’ Blends markers for a quick pop of color on this new Coastal Cabana card base. Two stamps, a little coloring and a few passes through the Big Shot (or punch) is all it takes to make this card!

  • Stamp the main SU Accented Blooms stamp once with Memento Tuxedo Black ink centered on a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of Whisper White cardstock . This is larger than you need, but you want to have space around it for the die cuts/punches. (Optional- stamp the envelope)
  • When dry, color with the Stampin’ Blends markers of choice
  • Using the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits set, cut three sections from the stamp (being careful not to cut into the tag area). The 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch also works great! (I just didn’t think of it ’til I finished the card!) lol
  • Emboss the card base front with the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Big Shot (to use the de-bossed side like I did, turn the folder upside down, with the front of the folder facing down)
  • Adhere the circles on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Stamp your sentiment of choice. This is from the ‘Enjoy Life’ set (yep, love it!)

Stampin’ Blends News

All the Stampin’ Blends markers used today are colors you can get now. After being on back-order for months, they’re (happily) in stock. There’s soon to be eleven new colors added (see them on Pg. 205 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog), when they arrive at the Stampin’ Up! warehouse. Delivery’s been delayed, but, anticipated to be any time now.  Good news for a lot of people anxiously waiting- myself included. They make coloring such fun and blend like a dream.

Accented Blooms Card With A Fun Peekaboo Sentiment!

Accented Blooms Card with a Peekaboo Hello

I’m so excited about today’s project! The Accented Blooms stamp set was one of the first to make my wish list when I saw the new 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It’s fresh and modern- and works with simple stamping (like today) or colored with your favorite markers or ink. Plus, it coordinates with the very popular Tailored Tag Punch for quick and easy projects. Yeah for possibilities… including today’s Accented Blooms card with a fun twist!

Today we’re going to use the Tailored Tag Punch to create a peekaboo effect, layering the sentiment under the main panel, instead of on top. A simple change that creates a fun element!accented blooms

The Crumb Cake stamped panel is 3-3/4″ x 5″. In order to know where to stamp, insert the cardstock in the punch centered left to right, until it hits the bottom. This notes the “throat” of the punch, so you don’t stamp too high. Lightly trace with a pencil (do NOT punch).

Now that you’ve established your stamp position, it’s time to stamp! I recommend the Stamparatus for this, especially with large stamps and fine lines. Notice the black “spacer” (below) I’ve used to to step it back from the edge. This allows your card to stay in a corner, but, not hit the hinges.

To get a good, solid-coverage of Versamark, I inked and stamped twice. Remember to use your Embosssing Buddy first! Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and use your Heat Tool to melt.

Next, pick your sentiment and stamp with the Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad on Whisper White cardstock.

The Stamparatus is great for ensuring good coverage on solid stamps. I LOVE it for repeat stamping… exact placement is AWESOME! Boo-boos are rare with this gem since they can be easily fixed. 🙂

Accented Blooms
  • Emboss the front of your card base (and envelope flap) with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on your Big Shot machine
  • Punch out your sentiment area from stamped panel using the Tailored Tag Punch
  • Savvy Tip: Save your mistakes! This was left from a Christmas card gone wrong, but only you’ll know! (photo below)

  • Turn over and place Stampin’ Dimensionals all over the back. Cut up and use the edge that runs around the outside, too- no waste! (see photo above)
  • Insert your ribbon on the side, then remove the release paper from the Stampin’ Dimensionals around the punched area only, turn over and center over the sentiment.
  • Remove the balance of the release paper from the remaining Stampin’ Dimensionals and attach panel to card base. Tie ribbon into a small bow, cutting tails as needed. That’s it!

So much texture and dimension, with a single pop of color… I love how it turned out! And so simple with the right tools. What do ya think???

One Design- Two Ways using Rooted In Nature Bundle

One Design- Two Ways using Rooted In Nature Bundle

Today I’m here to share two cards that showcase the variability of the Rooted In Nature Bundle, part of the new Nature’s Poem Suite from Stampin’ Up! If you’re looking for a suite of coordinated products that enable you to create projects for both men and women, this is it! Who else loves versatility AND value??? Let me show you what I mean…rooted in nature bundle front card ideas stampinup stampin up tammy beard stampin savvy stampinsavvy copy

Card #1- Feminine

This first card features new colors Petal Pink and Blackberry Bliss, just two of the nine colors found in the Nature’s Poem Suite. Such a lovely, feminine card!

  • Cut leaf print from Nature’s Poem DSP to 3″ x 5″ (same measurements for second card)
  • Cut blackberry stripes from Nature’s Poem DSP to 3″ x 3-1/2″ (same measurements for second card)
  • Stamp log on Whisper White Cardstock with Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Ink
  • Using your Stamparatus, stamp sentiment with Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad, clean stamp then ink with Versamark and stamp in exact same place. Apply Clear Stampin’ Embossing Powder and melt with Heat Tool. (Savvy Tip: Use your Heat Tool on low speed to dry the dye ink, then rub Embossing Buddy over area before stamping in Versamark)
  • Stamp leaves (3 times) with Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad on Petal Pink Cardstock and cut on Big Shot with coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelit Die.
  • Separate Nature’s Twine into three strands, then remove a single strand again and wind in circular motion under the sentiment. (Savvy Tip: Hold in place with a little SNAIL adhesive while you’re working)

Card #2 – Masculine

This second card features the same elements from the Nature’s Poem Suite, just mixed up a bit. Different patterns, colors, leaf stamp accents and sentiment. But the core elements are the same, just placed differently. Use the cut info from the first card for the large (leaf) print DSP and large Very Vanilla Cardstock. After stamping (with Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad) and heat embossing this sentiment, trim to fit. The striped piece is 1/2″ wide by 3-1/2″ long. All together, decidedly masculine! See what I mean about versatile?!

Nature’s Poem Suite

The Nature’s Poem suite of products is really worth a look. For all seasons. Numerous occasions. Everything is designed to work together, saving you money and making it easy to create lots of different projects.
