Happy March! Let’s talk Christmas cards… starting with a confession. Every year, despite good intentions, I struggle to get my holiday cards done. Every. Year. I start off well, but then the busyness of life and the extra activities of the season get in the way and I stress myself out trying to get them done. It’s kind of a love/hate thing. Can you relate? Well, I’ve determined this year is going to be different!
I was cleaning up my studio after the holidays and had lots of leftover bits and unfinished cards. I decided instead of squirreling stuff away, I’d just take an afternoon and make them into completed cards. At least I’d have some done early! Then it hit me, what if I take an afternoon a month- every month- and make XX number of cards throughout the year. I could be done before the holidays even start. To say I’m excited is an understatement! For those of you that are totally organized and can’t relate- I’m envious! For those like me, let’s do this together!
Each month I’m going to publish my card so you can do it with me. I like variety, so the cards will be different each month, made from current products you can get, too. If you find there’s one you really like, you can just duplicate it each month or if you’re like me, create new ones each month.
Start by determining how many total cards you need, then divide it by 8… because we are going to be done in October! D.O.N.E. Example: If you need 100 cards, you’ll need to make about 12/per month, with a few extras at the end. EASY!
Start with this week’s Card Sketch Blueprint. Using this design and the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper you can make 24 cards… a great start! Since this is actually my February card, you’ll still be getting another one this month. It will also be featuring the Painted Seasons Bundle (above) so you’ll have at least two ways to use it for the holidays.
