Turn Your Paper Scraps Into Beautiful Cards Using Peaceful Garden Suite

Hi crafty friends! Got paper scraps? If you’re laughing, it’s because YES is the obvious answer, right?!

In this week’s tutorial, we’re transforming leftover paper scraps into three beautiful cards using the PEACE ON EARTH Stamp & Die Bundle and coordinating PEACEFUL GARDEN Designer Series Paper. Both are part of the fabulous new Peaceful Garden Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up!®- our Savvy Showcase Suite for September.

TUTORIAL – ALL CARDS

• BASIC WHITE THICK CARDSTOCK: 4-1/4″ x 11″ Card Base. On Paper Trimmer, score on long side side at 5-1/2″, burnish fold

CARD 1 DETAILS

• PEACEFUL GARDEN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER: Cut (10) 1″ squares from coordinating patterns; temporarily arrange on card front, then adhere in place. Trim off excess with scissors.
  • Savvy Tip: Start with the diagonal row of 4 first, then work outward until all the pieces ‘fit’. Use a t-square or ruler as needed to help keep them straight.

• BASIC WHITE THICK CARDSTOCK: Stamp sentiment from Peace on Earth stamps with a Secret Sea Classic Stampin’ Pad. Cut sentiment label with Beautiful Butterflies Dies on Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar).

• PEACEFUL GARDEN GLIMMER PAPER: With the Peace On Earth Dies on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar), cut (1) large leaf branch [dark blue]. Adhere to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot. Adhere the sentiment label on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CARD 2 DETAILS

• PEACEFUL GARDEN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER: Cut (8) 1-1/4″ squares from coordinating patterns; temporarily arrange on card front, then adhere in place.
  • Savvy Tip: Start with the right row of 4 first, then add top and bottom rows until all the pieces ‘fit’. Use a t-square or ruler as needed to help keep them straight.

• SECRET SEA CARDSTOCK: 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″

• BASIC WHITE THICK CARDSTOCK: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Stamp sentiments from Peace on Earth stamps with a Secret Sea Classic Stampin’ Pad.
    • If you boo-boo stamping the word ‘Sending’ like I did, stamp it on scrap and simply cover over it… otherwise you won’t need the additional piece!
  • Layer on above Secret Sea square and adhere to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• PEACEFUL GARDEN GLIMMER PAPER: With the Peace On Earth Dies on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar), cut (1) large leaf branch [dark blue]. Adhere to the card front with glue/adhesive; add a small bow of Linen Thread with Mini Glue Dot.

CARD 3 DETAILS

• PEACEFUL GARDEN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER:
  • On Paper Trimmer, cut (6) 1-1/4″ squares from coordinating patterns; temporarily arrange on card front, then adhere in place. Trim off excess with scissors.
    • Savvy Tip: Start with the right column of 3 first, then add the row, then the bottom left until all the pieces ‘fit’. Use a t-square or ruler as needed to help keep them straight.
  • With the Peace On Earth Dies on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar), cut (1) dove. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiments from Peace On Earth stamps with a Secret Sea Classic Stampin’ Pad.

• PEACEFUL GARDEN GLIMMER PAPER: With the Peace On Earth Dies on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar), cut (1) large leaf branch [dark blue]. Adhere behind the dove’s head with a Mini Glue Dot.

The beauty of these simple ‘paper scraps’ designs is you can use any combination of coordinating designer papers and/or cardstock, along with favorite sentiments. I’ve chosen to solely use the Peaceful Garden Designer Paper on these cards, but mix-and-match what you have to your heart’s content!
