Savvy Tips For Sketch Success

Savvy Sketch 155 features three primary elements on an A2 card (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″).
Items in [ ] refer to sketch image above.

  1. Designer Paper [dots]: 4-1/4″ wide x 2-1/2″ high. This provides a beautiful backdrop to the focus image. Choose a pattern that compliments (not competes) with the focus image you choose. This fills the bottom 1/3 of the card.
  2. Focus Image [cake]: Could be a stamped image, or die-cut or ephemera piece. Or multiple pieces to form the overall shape. Position in the right 1/3 of the card.
  3. Sentiment: Select a bold, vertical sentiment, where the lines of text are below each other. It fills the space in the upper left 1/3 of the card.

Here’s an example of Savvy Sketch 155 in action…

TUTORIAL

  • Measurements & Instructions…
    • Start with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of [Pool Party] Cardstock. Score on the long side at 4-1/4″. Burnish fold with a Bone Folder.
    • The adorable Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Paper provides the scallop pattern paper, cake, flower accent and leaves. SEE THE IMAGES HERE
    • Adhere the designer paper strip first, to the lower third of the card front. Then, temporarily position the cake on the card front so you know where to stamp. Stamp the coordinating sentiment from Birthday Celebration with Versamark Ink, sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and melt with the Heat Tool on high (2).
    • Permanently adhere the cake with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth that draws your eye to this lovely foil-accented image. Add the flowers and leaf to the cake, on the lower left.
    • Embellish with three Tiny Bee Trinkets… they’re all abuzz for that sweet cake!

Think of the possibilities! Be creative with supplies you have and enjoy creating this savvulous card for your own family & friends ❤️
