Handmade Baby Card Idea for Boys or Girls

Hi friends! Today’s sweet baby card is wonderful to give at showers when you don’t know the sex of the baby. Even if you do know, simply switch up the colors and the design still works for both boys and girls. The hearts dangle freely, making it fun and interactive!

I’ve used both retiring products that are on the LAST CHANCE List, as well as items that will continue to be available for another year…. which means project ideas for those will keep on coming!

RETIRING (while supplies last):

• GINGHAM GALA 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – features Balmy Blue, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather & Lemon Lime Twist with Whisper White
• MEANT TO BE BUNDLE: Just the BE MINE Stitched Dies were used for the hearts. Pair them with the coordinating MEANT TO BE Cling Stamp Set and you’ll save 10% now while supplies last. Both these items will continue to be available in the new catalog, however NOT WITH THE BUNDLE DISCOUNT!
• ANIMAL OUTING BUNDLE: Only the stamps are used for this card, but if you want the matching dies to go with it, save 10% now while supplies last. The bundle discount ends June 3rd, even though both products will be in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Handmade Baby Card Details

1. Create A2 Card Base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored and folded in half at 4-1/4″) with Thick Whisper White Cardstock
2. Die-cut Whisper White Cardstock with Stitched Rectangles Die on Big Shot Machine; stamp sentiments from Animal Outing with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
3. Emboss panel with Subtle Embossing Folder; adhere to card front with glue or SNAIL Adhesive 
4. Die-cut 3 hearts from Thick Whisper White Cardstock on Big Shot Machine
5. Layer all three Gingham DSP pieces together and cut at once with same heart die; adhere one each on top of above hearts
6. Punch holes in hearts with 1/8″ Hole Punch and thread Whisper White Baker’s Twine through all three. Tie ends into a bow and adhere to card with Mini Glue Dots. Add Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons to hearts with Mini Glue Dots. {If you want to position the hearts so they don’t slide on the twine, simply adhere the button on top of the hole, catching the twine. They’ll still float freely on the card, but won’t slide out of place}
7. Optional: Adhere Gingham Gala DSP to flap of Medium Whisper White Envelope. Stamp greeting of choice inside. Stamp “watermark” stamp on back and sign.

I’m so glad you stopped by! Speaking of which, my parents arrive for their annual visit in a couple days- I’m so excited to see them, as are the rest of our family.
