Lovely Lattice is Part of My Story
Lovely Lattice is Part of My Story
Hi there! I’ hope you’re ready for a laugh today. As I was considering titles, I considered ‘What NOT to do in Card Making’… or ‘Got 4-Hours? Make This!’ Even ‘Drama-rama in the Craft Room’. There was a few others I won’t mention, but let’s just say today’s project could be a lesson in how to do all the wrong things! Four agonizing hours later, the above card was done. The good news is that now all the design kinks are worked out, it’s a 20-minute card for you!

LOVELY LATTICE
This lovely floral stamp makes a bold statement on cards. If you like coloring, you’ll love playing with this (although it also looks great simply embossed)! I’ve used Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers in the following combo colors: Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Pool Party. The Color Lifter was also used for highlights.
PART OF MY STORY
This was my first pick from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I just love the variety of sentiments in great fonts. I’ll be using these a LOT! And the fact it was free, wooHOOOOOOO!
Introducing NEW CLING Stamps
All our new Classic Red Rubber stamps are being introduced as Cling stamps (wood-mount are being discontinued, except for background stamps). Yes, they cling like crazy to our clear blocks! Watch this short video on tips to adhere your labels and remove them from your blocks…
PLAN A, B and C…
My original card design had a vellum overlay – which in my mind looked fabulous! Problem was I didn’t think this through before I started. I just made it up as I went. Sometimes that works, other times not so much. This was definitely the latter! I wasn’t prepared on how to attach the vellum, and with no areas to hide adhesive, it proved a challenge until I thought of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.
They were a fantastic solution until one single inky pinky got stuck to the adhesive and transferred to the vellum (photo above). Arghhh- I had to completely start over! This was after two other inking mistakes, a crooked sentiment, a mis-alignment with the stamp and another idea gone awry. To say it was just an off-day for creativity is an understatement! Ignore the double sentiment in the middle; I was trying another idea before I binned it.
The above card was finished version #1. Ever have the challenge of knowing when to stop? Yeah, me, too. It felt like it needed something, so I added the sequins shown in the earlier cards. So the question I have is “What do YOU think?” Sequins or no? Can you see yourself making this? Have you ever had one of these days? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for your sweet comments, Anne! It’s agreed- yay for sequins… amazing how those little bits of bling add so much! Thanks for visiting- loved hearing from you- have fun!❤
I love your finished card, and the sequins give it an extra oomph! The vellum was a good touch too. Would have used sequins there also. When you have a good idea it hurts to mess it up, but satisfying when you finally get it right! Been there!
So glad to know I’m not alone for those chaotic crafting days! Thanks for your feedback Lynda- so appreciated! Yay for sequins 🙂

Love the sequins ! I especially like that they are not all the same . I think they add just the right POP to your creation .
Now, you are of brave heart to take on this stamp with all those flowers to color and they turned out just so pretty . You said this was your first choice ….mine was the ribbon !
I think you have created a beautiful card even though it was ONE OF THOSE ….like we all have at times !!
