Use Rectangle Stitched Dies to Create Frames

Hi friends! Today I’m going to show you how to easily create frames with the RECTANGLE STITCHED DIES- and then use one to draw your eye to a focal point. One glance at the before and after photos above show how this simple change makes all the difference!

These are a must-have for card makers! This 13-piece set will create quick and easy stitched layers for your A2 Cards, as well as frames, sentiment panels and more… so much more! With stitching on both sides of the cutting line, every cut is a 2-for-1 special! These get big savvy points for being EXTREMELY VERSATILE… a great basic set you will use over and over!

  • SAVE 10%! BUNDLE these dies with the AMAZING LIFE Stamp Set and get the stamps for only $15 and change while supplies last through June 3, 2019
  • These dies will be carrying over into the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog so there will be lots more ideas coming

Follow this week’s Card Sketch Blueprint Tutorial #109 using the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper and Cardstock Pack (Blushing Bride card base). The Needle and Thread Stamp & Die Bundle provide the sentiment and flower using Balmy Blue (flower and sentiment) and Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pads (leaves). Pretty- but it looks like it needs something, doesn’t it?

Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock from the Needlepoint Nook Cardstock Pack. Use the second and fourth largest dies from the Rectangle Stitched Dies set. Center per the photo, die-cut on your Big Shot Machine.

  • SAVVY TIP: AVOID THE SPEED BUMP! Notice how the paper and dies are angled on the platform (photo above)? Whenever you’re using dies with a straight line (like squares or rectangles), place them at an angle so a corner enters the machine first and you’ll avoid the ‘speed bump’ jolt. Think of it similar to driving a car over a speed bump. Take it an angle and the effect is gentle. Aim the car straight on and it’s a jolt… same principle!

It’s a 3-for-1 cut special! Save the two pieces on the left for another project (see photo above) and use the center frame on the right to create what you see below!

What a difference it makes! Instead of getting lost, the frame now draws your eye directly to the stamped flower and makes it a true focal point. And that stitching… scrummy!

  1. Omgosh!! You are brilliant! I always hit the speed bump in my Big Shot and your tip of putting the dies in at an angle fixes it. Thank you for sharing : )
