Botanical Butterfly Sympathy Card for BP#105
Happy creative day! I have a sympathy card for you today showcasing another way to use Card Sketch Blueprint #105. BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY DSP
This card features the BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY DSP (Designer Series Paper). It’s been so much fun to create with! Several of the pages coordinate with the BUTTERFLY DUET Punch to create quick and easy focal points, like on today’s card. {The punch is currently out of stock, but a new shipment is anticipated to arrive April 1, 2019. I’ll keep you posted so you’ll know when you can order it!}

CREATE CUSTOM-SIZE DIE-CUTS
It’s EASY to create custom cuts with your dies for even greater versatility (like you see in the photo below). In this case, one of the dies was the right width, but way too high. No problem! Rotate the die so it’s larger than the width of the panel you cut and die-cut a second time. With the stitching on both sides of the cut line, you now have 2 panels: a sentiment for this card and panel ready for another project!
Like all the stitched details on today’s card? They add that little bit of *WOW* that step up your projects from simple to stunning. I used three of my favorite all-purpose stitched die sets that I highly recommend:
- Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (they coordinate with each of the Circle, Square and Oval Layering Dies Sets)
- Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies
- Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies
Sympathy Card Details
- Card Base is Pool Party Cardstock
- Center panel is Botanical Butterfly DSP (FREE with $50 order)
- Instead of the Pearlized Doily used in the Card Sketch, die-cut a scallop-edge circle from Pool Party Cardstock with the Layering Circle Framelits Dies, adhered to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Center circle is die-cut from Whisper White Cardstock with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
- The butterfly focal point is punched from the Botanical Butterfly DSP with the Butterfly Duet Punch and attached in the center with a Mini Glue Dot; doodle with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker
- The side “trim” are die-cut from Whisper White Cardstock with the BE MINE Stitched Framelits Dies (a FAVE!). (I didn’t realize until after I was completely done with the card that I didn’t follow the sketch with this! Instead of creating a four-sided rectangle, I just “trimmed” each side of the DSP. OOPS! See what I mean? Now you have two options that work- a good mistake?!)
- The sentiment is found in the Lasting Lily Stamp Set (FREE with $50 Order) and die-cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies on the Big Shot Machine
