Broadway Birthday Card Idea for Card Sketch #112
So glad you’re back for round 2 of this week’s cards featuring the BROADWAY BOUND Suite and Card Sketch Blueprint #112. Today we’re focusing on a Broadway Birthday Card idea similar to Monday’s graduation card (seen HERE). Where that card was glamorous, this one’s fun and flirty in Lemon Lime Twist. Like I said in the that post, the BROADWAY BOUND Designer Paper has a dual personality!

BROADWAY BIRTHDAY CARD Details
- Follow the directions in CARD SKETCH TUTORIAL #112 (click to download & print for free-measurements are included)
- Create your card base with Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock (EDIT: This cardstock has sold out and is no longer available. Substitute Basic Black or Thick Whisper Cardstock)
- Die-cut the circle with Silver Foil Paper
- Die-cut two marquees, one each from Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstocks, in lieu of sentiment rectangle in sketch
- Stamp ‘Hooray’ with a Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Stamp dots on top of above with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
- ‘Let’s Celebrate You’ is stamped with same black ink on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, trimmed and layered over a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock; adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
Create custom, color-matched embellishments!
It’s easy with Stampin’ Blends Markers and Pearl Basic Jewels (see photo below).
- After adhering marquee to card front, it’s time to add the jewelry!
- There’s 19 holes/pearls to color. 18 on mine since one jumped off and ran away. Drats, I didn’t notice it was missing before I photographed. I’m just showing you the before and after view! Yeah, that’s it. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it- lol)
- Color each pearl with the brush tip end of the Light or Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Marker (I used the Dark; while not an exact match, it’s very close)
- Allow to dry for a minute or so and adhere in the holes of the marquee (they’re a perfect fit)
- I highly recommend the paper-piercer end of the Take Your Pick Tool to make transferring these easy-peasy
Get three different colors from one ink pad! (photo below)
- Stamp the top, center balloon once, then stamp again (without re-inking) to the lower left
- Next, ink and stamp a third balloon to the lower right of the center. Repeat. The clear photopolymer material makes it easy to align in the same spot. If in doubt, use your Stamparatus stamp positioning tool for no-fuss, exact placement
- Stamp the tails and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
After the card’s complete, wrap a piece of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine around the card front and tie in a bow; trim ends as needed. You’re done!
