Broadway Bound Graduation Card with Free PDF Tutorial
Hi, crafty friends! My local Paper Hugs Class met this past weekend and we had so much fun playing with the BROADWAY BOUND Suite of products. Using this week’s new Card Sketch Blueprint #112, we made birthday, graduation and retirement cards. Join me this week to see what we made and what you can make, too! BROADWAY BOUND S-DSP
This specialty Designer Paper really does most of the work- wooHOO! The background panel and year numbers are cut straight from the paper. With the center marquee being Whisper White, you don’t even need to cut out the centers of the numbers 0 or 9. Yes, that was purposeful… I’m all for EASY! Our sharp, fine-tip PAPER SNIPS make quick work of this step.
- SAVVY TIP: If you don’t have the GOLD FOIL paper, use one of the other foil patterns from this DSP to cut the circle. They all work!
The Metallic Pearls are the perfect embellishment for the marquee. Get both gold AND silver in the pack (121 of each for a total of 242), so no worries about choosing or scrimping!
- SAVVY TIP: The TAKE YOUR PICK Tool makes easy work of picking up and placing these tiny pearls in place. I find the piercing end a sanity-saver!
The “Happy Graduation” sentiment is found in the ITTY BITTY GREETINGS stamps. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth from this set. It hardly leaves my desk before I’m grabbing it again! It covers virtually every occasion you can think of for the year.
- Stamp sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, trim. Adhere to card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
- SAVVY TIP: If you have a hard time trimming small sentiments like this, use the CLASSIC LABEL PUNCH …easy-peasy solution!
Stamp “Hooray” with a Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad, then stamp the dots over it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The photopolymer stamps make this easy-peasy to see and align.

new! CARD SKETCH TUTORIAL
In today’s card, you’ll notice a little deviation from the sketch. Instead of using the center sentiment rectangle, I’ve substituted the marquee die from the bundle. Since they’re very similar in shape, it works. Be creative!
Follow all the directions in the tutorial except for the rectangle. Die-cut one marquee in Basic Black and a second one in Whisper White, exchange pieces. Save the other two for another project.
