Falling Flowers Simple Watercolor Card
Hi friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve done any water-coloring, so I grabbed the FALLING FLOWERS stamp set one more time before it retires. It’s been a favorite for the last several years and pairs beautifully with any sentiment (like the one here from the COUNTRY HOME stamps). Grab your Aqua Painter and join me… it’s easy!
There’s also a great set of dies to go with these stamps, but they’re retiring, too!
Water-coloring with stamping is easy! Simply stamp the leaves with Tranquil Tide ink onto water color paper, then use an Aqua Painter to color inside the lines. The ink on the stamped image is all you need. But, if you want a more intense color, gently squeeze a closed ink pad in the center to transfer ink onto the lid. Open, then pick up a little color with the tip of your brush and paint! Relax, have fun and just let the color flow!
For the flowers, stamp with Versamark ink, sprinkle with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with your Heat Tool on Level 2. Follow the tip above to pick up Fresh Fig ink and paint color inside the lines. After all your painted images are dry, die-cut with the MAY FLOWERS Dies.
Step up the background by cutting a Whisper White panel with the RECTANGLE STITCHED Dies, then emboss with the SEASIDE Embossing Folder (on the LAST CHANCE List). Adhere to an A2 card base made from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Add a strip of Fresh Fig Cardstock (also cut with the RECTANGLE Dies), stamped with the sentiment from COUNTRY HOME (heat embossed like the flowers). Layer leaves and flowers with glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals; top with Glitter Enamel Dots in Coastal Cabana (a nice compliment to the Tranquil Tide, don’t you think?)
