FREE Tea Time Framelits – Let’s Talk TEA!

Who loves TEA???? I do, I do! Brewing a pot each morning is the perfect start to my day. Sometimes I’ll serve it in a pretty tea cup and it amazes me how it changes my perspective. Where mugs are the norm, a delicate tea cup elevates it to a genteel experience that makes me want to relax, slow down and savor the moment. I can see why tea time is such a cherished ritual around the world. Today’s card was designed to reflect this!

Tea cups hold a special place in my heart!  My mom had a few special tea cups that came to me when she passed and several friends have gifted me beautiful cups over the years… enough to now qualify for a small collection (some are seen above- including my favorite Jadeite cup from my bestie).  In our fast-paced, on-the-go-travel-mug world, I love that tea cups evoke a feeling of nostalgic peace and contentment.❤

PROJECT DETAILS

To add depth to the tea cup and make it stand out next to the tea pot, die-cut the cup from Thick Whisper White Cardstock three or four times (see photo below). Glue them together in a stack, then add the final stamped image on top. Stamp both the tea pot and cup on the (Petal Pink Polka-Dot) Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper with a Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad and die-cut with the FREE Tea Time Framelits Dies. The tea pot has one layer of Thick Whisper White under it. This creates a variation of depth in all the elements.

Texture and dimension add interest! Create subtle pattern with the Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper (in Gray Granite to match the card base) die-cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies on the Big Shot Machine, add a Colored Doilie (reversed and cut in half), and pop up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals (photo below).

Stamp the flowers on Thick Whisper White Cardstock with a Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad. Color with Stampin’ Blends alcohol Markers (I used Petal Pink combo, Pumpkin Pie combo and Old Olive combo) and die-cut. A little Wink of Stella Glitter brushed on top gives them some shimmer. Find the sentiment in the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

You have to see it in person to fully appreciate all the dimension and texture this card has! I hope you make it yourself just to see what I mean! If you do, please let me know… I LOVE hearing from you!

LOOSE TEA STORAGE & ORGANIZATION TIPStea-time-framelits-card-ideas-blog-post-stampin-savvy-stampin-up-stampinup-tammy-beard

For all you other tea aficionados out there, I thought I’d share my favorite tips for storing and organizing loose tea. Organizing is another passion of mine. Tea, too 🙂

  • 1) Store them in glass Mason Jars. The jars are easy to find, inexpensive to buy and do a great job protecting the tea’s flavor. No more bags, boxes and pouches of all different sizes to deal with.
  • 2) Cut the packaging for easy identification. Use the lid to trace around the tea name or brand on the original packaging; cut out and place on top of the lid and under the ring. Easy-peasy! (if you look closely, the front two jars have this) Re-usable Chalk Labels also work great.
  • 3) Use a Lazy Susan for easy (spin-able) access. No more digging to the back of the cabinet to find the tea you want.
  • 4) Store a teaspoon in each jar. I bought several inexpensive aluminum measuring spoon sets from the dollar store and took off the teaspoons, placing one in each jar of tea. You wouldn’t think this would be a big deal, but it really is! This might be my favorite tip 🙂
  • 5) Store your favorite sweetener with your tea, next to your mugs. I keep honey on the Lazy Susan… everything I need in one spot!

These tips have worked great for me for years and I hope they may help you, too! ❤

  1. Loved the glimpse of your tea cups (you’ve got some pretty ones) and the great organizational tips! The one about the teaspoons is great! I have a tea cup collection – it’s in my living room displayed in a hutch my dad made for my wedding present. I don’t think about using them often enough – you are right about tea tasting better from a china tea cup! Makes me want to brew a cup, too!

    • Oh, Laurie I loved your comments! What a treasure you have in that hutch- sooo special! I hope you enjoyed some tea in one of your favorite cups… thinking about that makes me SMILE! Glad you liked the tips 🙂

  2. Oh… your tea cups are so pretty! Love the card with stamps & dies!! I think I’ll go make a pot right now and look for my prettiest cup. Then I’ll find a tea stamp set to make a card with. I feel peaceful and happy just thinking about it : )
