Happy Wednesday! Thanks for joining me on this glorious, sunny spring day! Perfect to showcase this colorful card made with the Petal Passion DSP and suite of products featured this week. (If you missed Monday’s project, see it HERE).
Today’s cards use the beautiful sketched floral pattern in the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. It looks divine colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers (which I’m happy to report are nearing availablity again after completely selling out! And not just in the existing colors- but, lots of NEW colors are coming, too!). We’re adding the Stampin’ Write Markers to the mix for a fun multi-colored sentiment, as well!
Other than creating gorgeous colored images with blended shading and highlights, know what else Stampin’ Blend Markers can do? Color your embellishments! Notice the accents in the middle of the flowers? They’re White Perfect Accents colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers. That means you can create color-coordinated embellishments to match any project- from ONE embellishment! Want them to shimmer, too? After they’re dry from coloring, add a bit of glitter with the Wink of Stella brush! Ta-DA! How ’bout color-matching ribbon? YEP! That’s the Whisper White Organza Ribbon colored with the dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend Marker (pic below).
If versatility resonates with you like it does me, you’ll want to act fast and stock up on both the above goodies! They are retiring and only available while supplies last, or until May 31, 2018. {FYI-As of yesterday, the White Perfect Accents were listed as low inventory!} I especially like them because of their low profile- which means no problems mailing them or extra postage required!
Now let’s move to the other type of marker Stampin’ Up! offers. Notice the two-colored sentiment? That’s the ‘stamping with markers’ technique from last week, using Stampin’ Write Markers. Check out the details and tips HERE.
Because of the new color revamp coming June 1, ALL Stampin’ Write Markers in current color collections are retiring and available only as long as supplies last. As of yesterday, the Brights Collection is on Low Inventory, with the others right behind. If interested, see the links to all the color collections at the end of the post.
Following is a second card made with the same design. The sentiment was inked with Stampin’ Write Markers using the ‘stamp with markers’ technique and layered over a Tailored Tag Punch, turned sideways and tucked under the main panel. Clean and simple!
Stampin’ Blend Markers (Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy & Daffodil Delight) were used to color the flowers and White Perfect Accents decorating the centers. Light Pool Party was used to color the background.

With the craziness of the weekend, I completely forgot to post pics on Monday from my Saturday Paper Hugs Club class! We made the same cards featured this week- and they did such a beautiful job! I just loved their coloring on today’s featured card- not a single one was the same. Unfortunately, I was sooo enthralled, I forgot to get photos of them (you can see a glimpse of Molly and Jessie’s colored DSP on the table), but here’s a couple pics of them making the card featured Monday (seen HERE). I just had to show them off! Better late than never, right?
If today’s cards inspire you, please consider ordering your Stampin’ Up! products with me! I’d love to share my 20+ years of experience and support your creativity! Love the markers but has anyone worked out how to colour flesh – or isn’t that an option at all ‘cos I can’t see how 🙁
Great question, Pam! I use the IVORY Stampin’ Blends marker for light skin tones. Light touch with a second pass along outer edges for shading. You can also lighten it a bit with the Color Lifter. If you like a pinker tone, try LIGHT PINK PIROUETTE (on it’s own or over IVORY). The BRONZE Stampin’ Blends Marker works great for darker skin tones. The new PETAL PINK may also work; we’ll find out mid-month when it becomes available. I posted a graduation card colored with the Blends on May 30th you might want to check out. Hope that helps! Thanks for commenting! 🙂
Great post….loved seeing the pictures of people having fun! This paper and the blends make my heart skip some beats….JUST LOVE THEM!
Thanks, Susan for your lovely comments! The Petal Passion suite was one of my favorites, as well! So many possibilities! Happy Sunday 🙂
Adult markers! I love it!
I love it! It’s good to get to play like a kid, but with grown-up toys 🙂
