THOUGHTFUL EXPRESSIONS Fun Fold Card – New Design!

❤️ Happy creative day, crafty friend! You are going to love playing with the beautiful Thoughtful Expressions Stamp & Die Bundle to make this double-Z fun-fold card!

I’m sharing a new design with step-by-step instructions and lots of photos & savvy tips for success… make sure to PIN your favorite images so you can come back to the tutorial!

Let’s get started! Here’s a look at the pieces to make one card…

MEASUREMENTS & INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions are for TWO Cards… it’s only takes a few extra minutes and best uses your paper!
Measurements are noted as width x length

CUT & PREP – PART 1

• BOHO BLUE CARDSTOCK – 1 Sheet
  • Z-Fold Card Base: 7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
    • On Paper Trimmer cut 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet on short side at 7-1/2″; score at 2-1/2″ and 5″. Turn and cut on long side at 5-1/2″ for two card bases. Fold into Z and burnish each with Bone Folder (see photo below)
• CRUMB CAKE CARDSTOCK – 1 Sheet
  • Inside Z-Fold: 8-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
    • Cut 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet at 7″ on long side (extra piece is scrap). Turn and score on (8-1/2″) long side at 3-1/2″ and 6″. Turn on short side and cut at 3-1/2″ for two cards. Fold into Z and burnish each with Bone Folder (see photo below)

• BASIC WHITE CARDSTOCK – 1/2 sheet
  • Stamp front sentiment and large flower arrangement from Thoughtful Expressions stamps with Basic Gray Classic Ink (leave enough space to die-cut each).
  • On Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (mini or original), die-cut sentiment with fourth-from-largest round die; flower arrangement with coordinating die and inside sentiment panel with second-from-largest label die. Color flowers as desired [shown: Petal Pink & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers]

CUT & PREP – PART 2

• POETIC EXPRESSIONS 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper
  • Decorative Layers: (3) 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ + (1) 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ per card
    • Choose two coordinating patterns; stack sheets together and cut on Paper Trimmer at 2-1/4″ (x 12″); repeat (watch pattern direction). Stack all strips and turn to cut on long side at x 5-1/4″; repeat for (8) 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces.
      • Adhere 3 pieces to each card base [Boho Blue CS], centered in each section (see above photo)
    • Take remaining 2 strips (one of each pattern) and cut on long side to shorten length to 3-1/4″
      • Adhere to center section of inside Z-Fold [Crumb Cake CS] (above photo)
  • Front Layer below sentiment panel: 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ each (see two photos up)
    • Die-cut two with second-largest die from Thoughtful Expressions Bundle
  • OPTIONAL DECORATIVE ENVELOPE (2) 2-1/4″ x 6″
    • With same patterns, stack sheets and cut at 2-1/4″ (x 12″ – watch pattern direction); turn on long side and cut at 6″ for two envelopes
    • Adhere to outside of Medium Basic White Envelope flap; trim edge with Paper Snips

SAVVY ASSEMBLY TIPS – PART 3

• With card base folded closed [Boho Blue CS], insert the inside Z-fold [Crumb Cake CS] into the middle, with top fold on right at 4-1/4″ (photo above).
  • OOPS! I made a mistake and have the inside fold at 4-1/2″ in the photos above and below, NOT 4-1/4″! Don’t make the same mistake… double-check that it’s 4-1/4” or it won’t fit in the envelope!
• Open top fold and apply adhesive as shown in photo below. Close and allow to dry.

• Flip card over to the back, open back panel of card base [Boho Blue CS] to right and apply glue to the inside Z-fold [Crumb Cake CS]; close panel and allow to dry… inside Z-fold is attached to the card base! (photo below)
• Adhere die-cuts to inside Z-fold center and back section only (do not adhere front yet)- see photo three up

EMBELLISH – PART 4

• BOHO BLUE TEXTURED RIBBON – 16-18″ per card
  • Wrap piece around front panel of card base and tie into square knot (photo below)
    • SAVVY TIP! Reverse Tweezers are a huge help holding the first knot tightly while you complete it… they’re better than a second pair of hands, which aren’t always available! [tool shown from Embossing Additions Tool Kit]
  • Adhere front die-cuts with Stampin’ Dimensionals; adjust placement of knot as needed, trim ends and secure in place with a Mini Glue Dot

• 2023-2025 IN-COLOR DOTS
  • Embellish with Boho Blue Dots in the center of flowers (see photo below)
• BRUSHED BRASS BUTTERFLIES
  • Add a small butterfly for the perfect accent… done!

Here’s the finished card from the inside, showing off the beautiful die-cuts and coordinating goodies!
