BIRD BALLAD Laser-Cut Cards Series – Card #3

Welcome! Before I ever started creating the BIRD BALLAD Laser-Cut Cards Series, I decided I wanted to make a mix of cards to cover several different occasions to gift to my step-mom Cathy. Birthdays, congratulations, encouragement, sympathy, thanks and all-purpose were on my list.

To make it easy, I divided the twelve cards from the BIRD BALLAD LASER-CUT CARDS & TIN set into three main designs. You saw the first design in the cards I shared Monday and Tuesday (with two more coming next week). In Card #3, you’ll see the start of the second design using the STITCHED SHAPES DIES (still my top favorite die set, although the STITCHED NESTED LABELS DIES from this suite are a very-close second!)

BIRD BALLAD Laser Cut Cards

Oh, these cards! The front has been laser-cut into this beautifully detailed pattern, creating a peek-a-boo effect. This means you can customize them to your heart’s content. Here’s a peek at what they look like when you get them…

For the card’s I’ll be sharing today and tomorrow, I’m stepping up the mood by adding color behind the laser-cut front. I’ve adhered a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ panel of Calypso Coral Cardstock to the back of the laser-cut front. Start here before moving on to the other instructions. (Watch for my savvy tips later this week on the easiest (and cheapest) way to adhere intricate pieces. The same method can be used for these cards!)

• SAVVY TIP: Before adhering the above panel, snip out the center piece at the eight connection points. The main sentiment panel you’ll be adding hides the center of this laser-cut detail, so you’ll never know it’s missing. Save it for an upcoming bonus project I’ll be sharing. Two projects from one card: savvy!

Card #3 Tutorial

• Stamp the flowers and leaves on Very Vanilla Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Color with Stampin’ Blends markers of your choice; my choices are…
    • Leaves: Old Olive Combo
    • Flowers: Calypso Coral Combo
    • Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer was added to flowers
  • Die-cut on your machine with the largest STITCHED SHAPES circle die
  • Adhere to card with Glue or SNAIL Adhesive
• Stamp sentiment on Old Olive Cardstock
  • Die-cut on your machine with the STITCHED NESTED LABELS die
  • Adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals
• From the BIRD BALLAD Designer Series Paper, cut out a bird with Paper Snips
  • Adhere to circle with Glue or SNAIL Adhesive, letting tail hang freely on top of the sentiment
