Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE Birthday Card & Video Reveal of New Goodies

Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE Birthday Card

This past weekend we celebrated two birthdays in our family: my favorite daughter-in-love, Crystal and our sweet and spunky grand-daughter, Olivia. Of course, they each got handmade cards! Today I’m sharing Crystal’s ENJOY LIFE birthday card (Olivia’s card & gift follow Friday with a little video clip!)

Speaking of videos, want to check out some of Stampin’ Up!’s newest goodies? My order arrived yesterday and I’m here to share!  So much FUN stuff… wooHOO! See several New Designer Series Papers (part of the BUY 3- GET 1 FREE special going on), a new Limited Edition Bundle coming soon and more, more, more!

Back to my daughter-in-love, Crystal has an energetic zest for life, positive attitude and love for others that makes me smile with pride, but it’s her determination that amazes me. She puts her ‘all’ into overcoming any obstacles put in her path. The word “can’t” is not in her vocabulary!  The girl raising her hands in the air could’ve been modeled after her… except for one tiny difference. Crystal has long curly hair! Easily fixed with a little touch up with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. What fun to adapt… did you notice? 🙂 (Compare it to the actual stamp a bit lower in this post).

The main panel was watercolored for that cool background effect, then stamped with Staz-On Ink using my Stamparatus. It’s especially helpful when stamping on watercolor paper, as repeat stamping with exact placement is often needed to get good ink coverage on this textured paper. The (Bermuda Bay) stripe is from the Brights Collection 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Want to see how to create that watercolored background, check out the video tutorial in this post HERE.

This inside sentiment (and ‘Happy Birthday’ from the front) are part of the ‘Picture Perfect Birthday’ stamp set. They just really seemed to go perfect with the sentiment on the front. It really is the little “everyday” things worth celebrating. As Kenny Chesney sings… “that’s the good stuff!”

The ENJOY LIFE stamp set was part of fellow demonstrator Connie Fitzgerald’s reward for the milestone achievement of a million dollars in career sales.  She wanted something to represent her two adventurous and spunky kids, as well as inspirational quotes her family lives by. I find I reach for this set a LOT- it’s super versatile! If you have someone like Crystal in your life, (or others in need of a little lift), you’ll be using this set as much as I do!

Hope you enjoy a peek at lots of new product and the specials going on this month…

  1. Love the spirit of this card! The curly hair addition was a great idea, and worked out seamlessly for a great personalization.
