Pop Up Gift Card Holder Tutorial – Nothing Sweeter Bundle
Pop Up Gift Card Holder Tutorial – This is one of my favorite oldie, but goodie designs! When you open it, the gift card pops up and takes center stage! Quick, easy and fun to make, these are great for the holidays when time is short, but your list is long!
Pop Up Gift Card Holder Tutorial
- On Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Real Red Cardstock 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″
OPTIONAL: Emboss with Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on Big Shot Machine
Cut at 5″ on long side
-With larger piece (4-1/4″ x 5″) score @ 1-1/4″ and 3-1/2″ on long side
-With smaller piece (4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″) score at 1-1/4″ on short side - (see photo below) With Bone Folder, fold back and burnish the score lines from both pieces that are 1-1/4″ from edge. (If you have embossed them, make sure the same embossed/debossed sides are up). Apply Tear & Tape adhesive to edges on one piece. Align them together, remove paper and “kiss” them to form the pocket for the gift card.
- (See Photo Below) Create a notch in gift card holder using 1″ Circle Punch.
- With the Detailed Trio Punch, round the corners from the larger piece (that still has a score line)
- On Stampin’ Trimmer, cut two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock 4″ x 2″.
Stamp sentiment and images from Nothing Sweeter Stamp Set with Real Red and Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pads and adhere to inside middle and bottom of Gift Card Holder with SNAIL Adhesive or Multipurpose Glue (see photo below). - On separate scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp present in same ink colors as above and stamp TO/FROM from Sincerely Santa Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Die-cut with coordinating Sweetly Stitched Framelits Die (see photo above).
- On Stampin’ Trimmer cut a 1-3/4″ x 6″ strip from Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper to form the belly band. This will go around the gift card holder and keep the gift card from falling through.
- Fold the last score line on the holder in towards the gift card pocket and fold it closed. Wrap belly band LOOSELY around outside of holder (you want it to be loose enough to easily slip off) and pinch folds; secure ends with Tear & Tape Adhesive (see photo below).9. Cut a 3″ piece of Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon and 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. Adhere to belly band with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Adhere die-cut present on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
That’s it! Insert a gift card, sign and give to a loved one!
Switch it up and make the gift card holder from DSP and the belly band with embossed Cardstock. They’re super easy and use minimal supplies… it doesn’t get much better!
