Hi stampin’ friends! How would you like a card design that works for both masculine and feminine birthday cards? I’ve got just the one. Not only is it easy to create several at a time, but you’ll have sooo much fun making them! Turn on your favorite beach tunes and get ready to craft!
TROPICAL CHIC STAMP & DIE BUNDLE
If you’re a fan of quick and easy- with NO COLORING- this is the set for you! These solid image stamps plus your ink pad are all you need. But what if you want to play a bit? I’ve got a simple coloring technique for you that steps it up a notch.
For these cards, stamp the three leaves from the stamp set to create the “frame of foliage” with the Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Pads, then die-cut with the RECTANGLE STITCHED FRAMELITS DIES. The feminine card includes the hibiscus flower accent. Here’s how to step it up with this fun coloring technique:
- Apply Berry Burst ink to a Sponge Dauber (remove a bit on a scrap piece of paper)
- Stamp flower on the Powder Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Pounce on the center of the stamp with the Sponge Dauber and stamp on Whisper White Cardstock
- Die-cut on the Big Shot Machine with the matching die
- Adhere to card with a Stampin’ Dimensional
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Thinlits Die
Time to add the HAPPY BIRTHDAY Thinlits Die. I love this one for it’s instant POP and year-round use! It fills a card front and when you use it with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets*, your die cuts become a sticker. 2017-2019 In-Colors
These fabulous colors are on the short-list for retirement. You’ll want to grab these pronto, because when the official retiring list for this year’s catalogs is announced to Demonstrator’s next week, they become H*O*T commodities that typically sell out quickly. More on retiring color-matched products coming later this week!

Here’s a close-up of the masculine version with Fresh Fig Cardstock used for the accent layer and “Happy Birthday” die-cut. Last touch: add a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins!
SAVVY TIP
- Save paper and cut your Fresh Fig Cardstock rectangle layer 1/8″ larger than the Whisper White Layer, then die-cut “Happy Birthday” from the center. Once the top layer is adhered, you’ll never know! Want to make it super easy to adhere? Simply apply the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the entire piece and it does double-duty for the accent layer AND the die-cut!
Here’s a look at the inside of both cards. The sentiment for the masculine card (above) is stamped with the color-matched Fresh Fig Classic Stampin’ Pad from the LABELS TO LOVE Stamp Set.
The feminine sentiment (below) is from the NEEDLE & THREAD stamp set, stamped in matching Berry Burst ink.
